GiftCardsforEducation.com ("GCE," "we," "us," or "our") and its affiliates sincerely respect the privacy of our visitors and cardholders. We will never sell or share your name, school affiliation, email address, shopping preferences, or other personally identifiable information with any third party without your explicit consent, except as necessary to fulfill the gift card redemptions you request (see "Third-Party Fulfillment Partners" below). We have established strict security measures that are followed to protect any information you choose to share with us. Visitor information that may be disclosed in aggregate form to third parties will consist solely of aggregated data on a set of visitors, never individuals, unless you so choose. The aggregated information will be used to better understand general site usage patterns, improve site usability, and add merchants and services that will better serve our visitors' needs and interests.
Information We Collect
To operate the iChoice Card program and process redemptions, we collect:
- Account information — name, email address, password (hashed), and account type (school sponsor or consumer).
- School affiliation — for school sponsor accounts, the associated school ID and sponsor email of record.
- iChoice card data — 17-digit card number, balance, and transaction history. Card data is synchronized from SchoolStore.com's secure systems after the issuance hold period.
- Order and redemption details — selected merchants, denominations, delivery email addresses for gift card recipients, and order status.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and cookie identifiers used to maintain your session and protect against fraud.
We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Any credit card processing for consumer purchases is handled by PCI-compliant payment processors.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Validate iChoice cards at the wallet and checkout stages.
- Process gift card redemptions through our fulfillment partners.
- Send transactional emails (card issuance, order confirmations, delivery receipts).
- Detect and prevent fraud, including the 24-hour fraud-protection delivery window for school-issued cards.
- Improve site usability and expand our merchant catalog.
- Send periodic email bulletins (only if you opt in). You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any bulletin email or by contacting us at the address below.
Third-Party Fulfillment Partners
To deliver the merchant gift cards you redeem your iChoice card for, we share the minimum necessary information (typically the recipient delivery email, merchant ID, and denomination) with our fulfillment partner:
- Blackhawk Network (BHN) — fulfills gift card redemptions on behalf of GCE. This partner is bound by its own privacy policy and contractual obligations to handle your information securely.
We also exchange transactional data with SchoolStore.com (the issuer of school iChoice cards) for the purpose of synchronizing card balances and redemption history with school earnings ledgers.
Email Restrictions for School Cards
To protect school sponsor accounts, iChoice cards issued to schools must be added to a wallet by an account whose email matches the sponsor email on file. This restriction is a security measure and uses your email only for verification — not for marketing.
Cookies
To make your experience as smooth and easy as possible, we use electronic "cookies" to recognize your computer as a returning visitor and maintain your authenticated session. You may disable cookies from your browser's configuration menu at any time. The downside is that you will need to re-login upon each visit. All cookie information is considered personal and proprietary and is encompassed in GCE's commitment to your privacy and security of data.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit.
- Restricted internal access to personally identifiable information on a need-to-know basis.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we use commercially reasonable means to protect your data.
Data Retention
We retain account, card, and order records for the lifetime of your account plus the period required by applicable financial and tax recordkeeping laws. iChoice cards expire 12 months from the issue date; transaction records associated with expired cards are retained as required by law.
Children's Privacy Statement
GiftCardsforEducation.com is primarily directed at an audience of 13 years of age and above. We do not solicit identifiable information other than name, email address, school affiliation, and the delivery email for redeemed gift cards. GCE takes the privacy of our users very seriously and we do not actively pursue information from users under the age of 13. If we become aware that a user is under the age of 13, we will block their access to the site. We strongly encourage parents to be involved in all of their children's online activities. GCE complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and does not condition participation in an activity on our site upon disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary. GCE makes a reasonable effort to ensure that links from its site adhere to COPPA, but we cannot and do not guarantee that linked sites do — please check each site's privacy policy. No information should be submitted to or posted on our site by guests under 13 years of age without the consent of their parent or guardian.
Your Rights
You may, at any time:
- Request a copy of the personally identifiable information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account (subject to legal retention requirements for completed financial transactions).

User will not use the GCE service in a manner that is prohibited by any law, rule, or regulation. These terms of use are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee without reference to its conflict of law principles, and each User consents to the personal jurisdiction of the courts within the State of Tennessee for any action arising out of use of the GCE service. These terms of use constitute the entire agreement between GiftCardsforEducation.com and User.
